Did You Know Kenya’s Ngong Hills Are Being Revived to Fight Climate Change?

Did You Know?

One of Kenya’s most iconic Water Towers—Ngong Hills—is undergoing an ecological transformation, thanks to TEAMEnvironment Kenya. We’ve been entrusted with 15 acres (6.2 hectares) of degraded land to spearhead a bold climate action project that focuses on protection, conservation, restoration, and rehabilitation.

As part of this initiative, we aim to plant over 180,000 indigenous tree seedlings, contributing directly to the fight against climate change and in support of SDG 13: Climate Action. This effort is also in line with the Kenyan government's vision of growing 15 billion trees by 2032.

But we can't do this alone. To bring this vision to life, we’re calling on individuals, communities, and partners to help us mobilize essential resources for:

  • Fencing and securing the restoration site

  • Drilling a borehole to serve both trees and the local community

  • Organizing a large-scale, inclusive tree planting exercise
